Our good friend and colleague Andras Schram does a lot of work overseas and in Eastern European countries. He really does have a unique style, and for that we love referring him to our clients. Recently Andras submitted one of the weddings we did together to Eskuvo Classic Magazine (which stands for Classic Weddings Magazine). It’s is now one of the leading wedding magazines in Hungary. They have featured Andras many times and we are thrilled that he brought us along for the ride!

How to Tie a Bow Tie

By admin | No Comments

Are you going to get your groom to wear a bow tie on your wedding day? Tying a bow tie can be a tricky task to overcome, especially if you have never done it before! Once you have mastered it, however, not only will you look super fantastic, but you will feel as great about your own personal accomplishment. Follow the steps below, and let us know how it worked out!

The 4 steps of tying a bow tie in visual illustration

STEP 1

Make a knot, as if you were about to tie your shoe laces. Instead of doing the “loops” fold back the bottom end and hold it in place, to be fastened.

STEP 2

Take the top end upwards, over the front of the “bow” to resemble the shape you’re trying to achieve.

STEP 3

Now take that end upwards, under and up, pushing it back through the knot. This gives it the “doubled-up” effect that looks so spectacular!

STEP 4

Pull the tie snug, but not too tight or you may damage the tie. (If you are renting it, this is not desirable). Plump up and fluff up the fabric until the bow tie looks even and symmetrical!

LFW DIY: Tissue Paper Pom-Poms!

By admin | No Comments

Below are the steps and visual diagrams to create your own Pom-Poms, using tissue paper. These were created as a beautiful ceiling feature, in our booth at the Wedding Fair. To create our tissue paper ceiling, we used over 6,000 sheets of tissue paper! The Pom-Poms were originally  inspired by Martha Stewart Weddings, but here’s our take on them! Give them a try for yourself…

STEP 1

Take 10 sheets of tissue paper (26in. x 36in.) and stack on one another. Make 1 1/2in. wide accordian folds, creasing each fold.

STEP 2

Fold an 18in. piece of floral wire in half, and slip over the center of the folded tissues. Twist. With scissors, trim the ends of tissue into rounded shapes.

STEP 3

Separate all the layers, pulling away from the center, one tissue paper at a time.

STEP 4

Tie a length of floral wire for hanging.

LFW’s Guide to Wedding Announcements!

By admin | No Comments

It is a romantic and exciting time in every couple’s lives when they decide to take the next big step…marriage! As soon as you get engaged you will want to proclaim your love for one another from the rooftops, however, you may want to think twice before doing so. At LFW, we think there are a few important tips to wedding announcements before all the elaborate planning can begin!

Do Tell Your Closest Friends and Family Right Away!

The moment right after you become engaged is exceptionally special, and after you breathe deeply and get over the initial shock of excitement of the engagement, you will want to share the news with your closest friends and family. Then you can all celebrate together and embrace your future with your new fiancé!

Don’t Tell Every Single Person You Know!

While you should tell your engagement to those you and your husband-to-be are close to, you should however limit the amount of people you inform. Not only would it take a large amount of effort and time to call everyone, but no one will know their exact wedding guest list plans the moment they become engaged. It would be rude and extremely embarrassing to both parties if you gave false notions of an invitation, and did not end up inviting them.

Do Send Engagement Announcements in an Appropriate Manner

As previously discussed, calling everyone you know about your recent engagement is a time consuming and inappropriate idea. A better way to let your news be heard is through engagement announcements. They are an easy and effective way to inform your family and friends of your exciting news, while allowing you to only invite personally the people you would like to attend the wedding. There are many different types and varieties of Wedding Announcements, to easily match your tastes and personal styles.

Do Have an Engagement Party

Another way of announcing your engagement is by having an engagement party! This allows you to get together with family and friends, to celebrate your new engagement all together with the ones you love!
